A Picture is Worth a Thousand words…. some highlights
A weekend fire pit turned into a 3 month project…scope creep and lots of rules :-).
I didn’t realize although I did the math, that an 8″ deep 14′ wide excavated hole that is then filled with cement fines and sand weighs in excess of 6 tons is pretty dang heavy! That my friends, is a whole bunch of shovel throws for little old me.
Having grown up before personal computers for the most part, no internet as well as being an Eagle Scout and also someone that prides himself on being self reliant this manual labor job has solidified in me the need for teamwork. The Sunday barn build is the way to go.
The HOA as all HOAs are know for made making something fun not so fun didn’t disappoint in the stereotype. Traversing the paperwork and approvals took the most time of the entire project.
The fire is worth it, especially on the few cool nights we get.

I actually have not done anything like that
It was quite an undertaking and I assume like most things had I thought to much on it I would not have attempted it.
